Game animals - deer, elk, moose, bear, sheep, mountain goat.
Moose are not found on the coast but are found throughout the interior. Deer are more concentrated on the coast than elsewhere.
Black bears are common throughout the province.
Grizzly bears are more likely to be found in mountain areas.
birds - Waterfowl, grouse, pheasant, partridge
fish - Pacific salmon, rainbow and cutthroat trout
Fur bearing animals - mink, muskrat, marten, beaver

Good area for Bird Watching
Whale watch - take a tour by boat see orcas, Pacific Gray Whales. You will be able to get close enough to feel the spray from the blowhole as the whale dives. Whale Watching tours are available in Victoria.
Watch for deer, sea birds, herons, Bald Eagles.
Take a cruise along the shoreline to see black bears on Shore near Port Hardy, Port McNeil and Juan de Fuca Provincial Park.
Elk can be viewed near Campbell River.
Eagles can be viewed at King Fisher Resort in Courtenay.
Other animals to see along the coast are: seals, sea lions, dolphins, porpoises, marine birds.
Vancouver Coast and Mountains - Mainland
good place for Whale watching and bird watching
See flocks of Eagles feed on spawning salmon from mid November to February near the town of Brackendale.
there are over 280 species of migratory birds here at the Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary.
Also find more wildlife at Manning Provincial Park, Great Blue Heron Nature Preserve, Boundary Bay Regional Park.

Butterflies at Kelowna's Elysium Gardens
Salmon Arm Bay Nature preserve has about 250 migratory birds
At Vaseux Lake Provincial Park see wrens, Lazuli buntings, Chukar Partridges, woodpeckers, bighorn sheep and more.
Robert W. Starratt Wildlife Sanctuary is near Valemount and is a marshland.
BC Wildlife park is in Kamloops and has over 65 species of animals It also hosts a falconry festival.
You can see Black bears at Wells Gray Provincial park and areas near Merritt and Kamloops.

Cariboo Chilcotin Coast

Migrating swans stop at the 100 mile marsh in the spring.
Bighorn sheep can be found southwest of Williams Lake in Junction Sheep Range Provincial Park.
In Itcha Ilgachuz Provincial Park find large numbers of caribou, grizzly bears and bighorn sheep.

Kermode or Spirit bear is very rare. It is white in color and is only found in central British Columbia and the BC North Coast. You might be able to see one near Terrace.
